Change4Life is a society-wide movement that aims to prevent people from becoming overweight by encouraging them to eat better and move more.  It is the marketing component of the Government’s response to the rise in obesity.  The campaign aims to inspire a societal movement in which everyone who has an interest in preventing obesity, be they Government, business, healthcare professionals, charities, schools, families or individuals, can play their part.

Indoor Play Magazine

Indoor Play Magazine is produced six times a year and is the only magazine that's dedicated to the indoor play industry. It's mailed to 1,200 indoor play operators and 300 suppliers in the sector on a bi-monthly basis and is also available as a digital magazine

Association of Play Industries

The Association of Play Industries (API) is the lead trade body in the play sector, with over 70 members it represents the interest of manufacturers, installers, designers and distributors of both outdoor and indoor play equipment.

Federation of Sports and Play Associations

The Federation of Sports and Play Associations (FSPA) is the national trade body representing the UK's sports and play industries. The member companies include manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, sales agents, retailers and operators of sports and play goods and services.

Department for Children, Schools and Families

The purpose of the Department fot children, schools and families is to make England the best place in the world for children and young people to grow up.

Play England

Play England promotes strategies for free play and aims to create lasting support structure for Play providers in England. It is a key element of the Children's Play Initiative of the big lottery fund.  

Play Scotland

Play Scotland works towards promoting the importance for all children and young people, and campaigns to create increased play opportunities in the community.

Play Wales

Play Wales is a charity that provides advice, support and guidance for all those in Wales who have have a concern or responsibility for any environment where children and young people might play.

Skills Active

Skills Active is the Sector Skills Council for Active Leisure and Learning. Directed by employers, Skills Active leads the skills and productivity drive across sport and recreation, health and fitness, outdoors, playwork and caravan industries.

Register of Play Inspectors Interational

The Register of Play Inspectors (RPII) is the first European Register for Inspectors involved with childrens playground inspections and for those wishing to pursue a career in this area of work.

Federation of the European Play Industry

The Federation of the European Play Industry (FEPI) is a non-profit association at European level comprimising European based companies and European national play industries federations. 

Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA)

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents is a registered charity established over 80 years ago and aims to campaign for change, influence opinion, contribute to debate, educate and inform - for the good of all.

The Childrens Play Information Service (CPIS)

The national library and information service on childrens play, funded by  the DCMS, and managed by the National Childrens Bureau. We provide and enquiry service and a reference library, and our website has a series of downloadable factsheets.

Health and Safety Executive (HSE)

The Health and Safety Commision is responsible for health and safety regulation in Great Britain. The Health and Safety Executive and local government are the enforcing authorities who work in support of the commision.

Inflatable Play Manufacturers Association (IPMA)

The lead trade body representing the interests of manufacturers of inflatable play equipment.

Institute for Sport, Park and Leisure (ISPAL)

ISPAL (The Institute for Sport, Parks and Leisure) is a new, professional membership body for a fast growing, buoyant industry. They are formed from two previous bodies of repute, ILAM (The Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management) and NASD (The National Association of Sports Development).


Playday is the annual celebration of children's right to play. On Playday , thousands of children, young people and communities will get out and play at hundreds of locally organised events across the UK.
