Serendipity Sam’s 10th Birthday
Romsey based Serendipity Sam’s is due to celebrate 10 years of ‘Healthy Play, Every Day’ on Thursday 18th March. The business was started by local couple, Paul and Cecilia Taylor, back in March 2000, when they opened the Romsey centre providing around 20 jobs. Since then, the company has enjoyed phenomenal success establishing itself as the regions premiere indoor play and party provider. In 2001, the company reached the HSBC Start Up Stars national finalists, followed later, in 2002 by the opening of their second Serendipity Sam’s in Christchurch.

More recently the company has been accepted into the Play Providers Association, a representative body of the finest children’s indoor play and party centres in the UK, following a glowing report from industry safety expert, Nick Balmforth.
We asked Cecilia what does the future hold for Serendipity Sam’s? “We’ve had a great 10 years; like any business we’ve had our highs and lows. We started the business when our children, Amy and Joe, were 10 and 6, now they are both grown up we feel it is time for a change. The day-to-day operation is overseen by Romsey General Manager Dave Gillard and we are not as involved as we once were, so we have decided to place the business for sale with a local agent, but its business as usual until a new owner is found”.
“Many of our current staff played here as customers in their childhood and we’re sure many of today’s visitors will work here in the future.”
