Lobbying

The Play Providers Association is currently seeking governmental support for the industry and is lobbying hard to raise its profile to customers. Despite the obvious benefits of play and support and funding in other areas of children's development, indoor play continues to be sidelined and suffers from a poor public image.

"INDOOR PLAY is part of the SOLUTION and can help future generations to be more PHYSICALLY ACTIVE"

In addition to the health benefits, there is also the economic development that PPA members provide to local communities, employing local people and raising their skill levels. The PPA would welcome the support of related organisations, government MP‟s and departments and commercial companies with similar objectives to ourselves in our quest to raise the importance of safe play in children and create a healthier generation of children with a wider skills set at an earlier stage in life.

The Play Providers Association committee attended a Westminster briefing in May 2008 and asked whether In light of the concerns of many parents who believe it is unsafe to let children play outside with traffic implications, violence and crime on the streets, do
attendees believe government funding should be focused more on activities to keep children fit and healthy in a safe, secure and challenging indoor play area?

A massive 79% agreed that government should be supporting both indoor and outdoor play
